The heavy rains have opened several sinkholes in the Broadcasting Road area.
I ran past the biggest one today. I asked the young man working on filling it just how big is it? He said with a very telling tilt of the head, “iiiit’s pretty big.”
If you own a home in Spring Township or Sinking Spring (it is right there in the name SINKING) or actually anywhere from the south west of the county (bottom left side) to the north east (top right), you are above limestone. See Crystal cave.
You really ought to have sinkhole collapse coverage added to your homeowner policy.
When he said pretty big, he meant it. They dropped cable into it and you would not believe for how long it ran. And there are three all within a mile of each other.
